Key Points

  • The author is designing two computational neuroscience models and asks for an effective workflow to design and implement them.
  • They question whether to first perform deep research and then use GPT-5.4 for coding prompts (with Codex in VS Code) or to provide context with metadata to GPT-5.4 to generate model design and prompts for Codex.
  • They are exploring how to leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, GPT-5.4, Codex) for ideation, design, and training of the ML model.
  • The post originates from a Reddit user in r/MachineLearning and includes a link to the thread.

So for context currently I am building 2 different computational models for my projects related to Neuroscience. I wanted to know what approach do you guys take with this ?

I have access to ChatGPT and wanted to know if I should run my idea through deep research for further improvement and then use GPT 5.4 for the coding prompt and ultimately use codex in VS code ? Or should I just give the context along with the metadata to GPT 5.4 to come up with the model design and improved idea plus prompt I can give to codex to build and train the ML model ?
