Generic cold emails get deleted. But writing a personalized email for every prospect is slow. I feed ChatGPT a few lines about the prospect — their role, company size, a recent press hit or LinkedIn post — and ask it to draft a first line that feels human.

Prompt:

"Write a personalized first sentence for a cold email to a VP of Sales at a 200-person SaaS company. They recently posted on LinkedIn about struggling to ramp new AEs. My product helps onboard sales reps 40% faster. Make it conversational, not salesy."

I rewrite the rest myself, but that opening line is 80% of the open rate. ChatGPT gets me to a strong draft in 30 seconds.

Objection Handling Practice

Before a big call, I roleplay objections. I tell ChatGPT to act as a skeptical CFO and push back on price, timing, and ROI. It's surprisingly good at this.

Win/Loss Analysis

After losing a deal, I paste my notes into ChatGPT and ask what I missed.

Prompt:

"Here are my notes from a deal I lost. The prospect chose a competitor at a lower price. What signals in these notes suggest I should have handled the pricing conversation differently? What would you have done at each stage?"

It's not always right, but it asks questions I should be asking myself.

Proposal Summaries

When I need to send a summary of a proposal to a stakeholder who wasn't on the call, I don't write it from scratch.
