I'm at a point in my career where I feel like taking tech-adjacent role (non-IC software engineering role) would be the best for me.
Reason being: I'm getting tired of seeing people shoving AI down your throat
People be like: "I used Claude to spin up an MVP for my idea"
Alright cool! Builders are getting things done really quickly this time.
The problem comes when your boss wants you to use AI to "become faster" - sure AI can help me write code faster, and arguably better code, but I fell in love with software engineering because of writing code.
Idk maybe this is just a phase, and as with any phase, it will pass.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who feels this way
