Key Points

  • A Reddit user spent hours using REPLIT’s free day of coding to plan and build an app, but ultimately couldn’t finish and therefore didn’t publish their work.
  • They found the experience valuable for app planning, noting that a “Plan Mode” exists and worked well for structuring the application they were trying to create.
  • The user leveraged multiple REPLIT accounts (one free tier) to refine plans for another app, then attempted to pass the plan to Claude, which ran out of credits.
  • They reported that remaining free credits still allowed REPLIT to generate a smaller second app, and they plan to try Gemini next time.
  • The post invites others to share what they built during the event and whether they were able to publish, with a disclaimer that the author has no affiliation with REPLIT.

It was a great experience.
Better than AI Studio IMO - though the interface is the same.

PLAN MODE.
But I found out it has a PLAN MODE.
I didn't know that but I used REPLIT

------..sh...-----------

JUST TO PLAN THE APP I WAS MAKING! 😄
It was excellent in doing that.

IN FACT
I opened a 2nd account - free tier, no MAY 2026 promo - and used that to fine tune the plan for another app-- ignoring the prompts to make the app. Until I was ready to say "GREAT PLAN!"

Then I gave the plan to Claude and ... that one ran out of credits. 😞 I'll try it in gemini next time.

But the remaining free credits -- replit was able to make my 2nd smaller app.

YOU?

If you participated, what did you do?
Where you able to publish?

Disclaimer: I dont work for them or with them.
