Key Points

  • The article argues that, despite a worsening US tech job market for young STEM graduates, AI has matured enough to make returning tech jobs more viable.
  • It suggests convincing corporate leaders that rehiring and bringing roles back to the US can be economically sustainable in the presence of AI.
  • The author notes this would require upfront risk-taking and changes to the current business status quo, including reversal or reduction of ongoing job offshoring.
  • The main framing is an ethical and potentially high-upside approach to improving opportunities for recent graduates while leveraging AI capabilities.

now we have well maturing AI while tech job market is horrible, especially for young recent graduates or not fully vet into Senior roles, while job offshoring still intact.

what do we do about it? higher level corporate leaders needs to convinced that returning jobs is economically viable now with AI. Yes it will require upfront risk taking and change of status quo, but the upside is much bigger and much more ethical.

here is just one of examples how it could be modeled (** I have Zero self promotion or monetization intent - only to point decision maker to better or right direction).
