Key Points

  • The article claims that Anthropic’s Claude “code remote” environment defaults to the GLM 4.7 model (hidden on mobile) rather than using only Anthropic’s proprietary models.
  • It suggests that Anthropic is serving an open-weights model in this specific workflow, which challenges the assumption that Anthropic only uses its own models for all tasks.
  • The post speculates that the open-weights GLM 4.7 may have been accused (by others) of being distilled from Anthropic’s proprietary models.
  • The information appears to originate from a user observation and is shared via a Reddit post, implying it may be based on reported behavior rather than an official announcement.

I just noticed this after a bug wasn't getting fixed. If you start a Claude code remote environment the default model (hidden on mobile) is glm 4.7 I assumed anthropic only used their own models for everything so it was interesting to me that they are actually serving open weights models (which I assume they have accused of distilling from their own proprietary models)
