| Just wanted to share a showcase of outputs. Ill also be doing a deep dive video on it (model is done but I apparently edit YT videos slow AF) I'm a music producer first and foremost. Not a fan of fully generative music - it takes out all the fun of writing for me. But flipping samples is another beat entirely to me - I'm the same sort of guy who would hear a bird chirping and try to turn that sound into a synth lol. I found out that pure sample generators don't really exist - atleast not in any good quality, and certainly not with deep timbre control. Even Suno or Udio cannot create tempo synced samples not polluted with music or weird artifacts so I decided to build a foundational model myself. [link] [comments] |
I'm currently working on a pure sample generator for traditional music production. I'm getting high fidelity, tempo synced, musical outputs, with high timbre control. It will be optimized for sub 7 Gigs of VRAM for local inference. It will be released entirely free for all to use.

Key Points
- The author is building a pure sample generator for traditional music production with high fidelity, tempo-synced outputs and advanced timbre control.
- The model is optimized for local inference under 7 GB VRAM, enabling use on consumer hardware without cloud access.
- They claim current options like Suno and Udio do not reliably produce tempo-synced samples without artifacts, positioning this as a foundational alternative.
- A showcase of outputs will be released, along with a deep-dive video, and the model is already completed though video editing is slow.
- The project reflects the creator's preference for sample-based manipulation over fully generative music and will be released for free to all users.
